Hello and welcome to Let's Play Spelunky, a fantastic and addictive rouge-like platformer all about raiding treasure-littered ruins. As described by the developer himself, Derek Yu, Spelunky is basically a cross between La-Mulana and NetHack focused on reflexes and tension. It's fast, it's fun, it's frustrating, but best of all, it's free!

How will this LP stand out as the cream of the crop? For starters, 9/10 Spelunky LPs end up having the player suffering Yet Another Stupid Death forcing them to restart from the beginning. That's complete bullshit and a mockery to the game which is why I've decided to present the game start to finish, no restarts necessary. And with post-commentary, I'll be showcasing techniques and info on enemies due my absolute addiction to the always helpful Spelunky Wiki. Yes, it even has a wiki.

Now if only I could get the live-action movie started... regardless, have fun and happy spelunking wasting your lives!

"Legends speak of a Colossal Cave that extends deep underground, so twisted by time that its passages shift like the sand under which it lies... the Cave is said to be filled with fabulous treasures, but also incredible danger!"

Characters:

Spelunker/Indie: Our intrepid, jack-of-all-trades adventurer! He's come to the Colossal Cave in search of fame and fortune, but might have bitten off more than he can chew...
Damsel: Trapped in the monstrous cave, this lovely little lady awaits her rescue by the Spelunker. Unfortunately, the Spelunker has been known to treat women... roughly.
Shopkeeper: Laying out his wares, this old man has some tantalizing bargains; however, rumor has it, that the old man has a nasty temper and connections to illegal markets...

Welp, that's what happens when the secret exit pops up within the first 15 seconds. Took me by surprise when I was playing, and made the video end up an information-smorgasbord to my dismay. Nonetheless, many thanks for the praise, you guys!

I seriously love this LP Bright. The information is presented well, the game is addictive and fantastic (and not overdone), the audio is good, the video is good seriously this has to be one of if not my favorite current LP series.

P.S. QC was that "other" LP made by a Hobo (I never made it through part 1 so I wouldn't know).

I have no idea. If I looked at the name, I would have had to cry, because it was probably a famous and 'good' LPer.

EDIT: Ironically, I looked at the birthdays... And I do believe it's the man who has one today, Kikoskia.

I'd love to have you be a guest, Saki. Assuming you don't mind another person tag along, I'm sure we can set something up for the next episode over Skype or PMs. It may end up pushing the LP back some, but it'd definitely be worth it.

As for Kikoskia, yes he did die twice in the first part of his Let's Play which ended up being 39 glorious* 10-minute episodes. The multiple deaths become increasingly repetitive on a game that takes 30-45 minutes to complete at most. Very frustrating.

Anyways, to anyone else who's responded, thanks again! And you really ought to do that QC, it'd be an amazing adventure of silliness and anger.
