Yeah, I remember another action spin-off of M&M called Crusaders of Might & Magic for the PC. I bought it in the Netherlands which didn't make it better at all.

And as for good western RPGs: Knights of the Old Republic, Fallout 3, The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind and the Ultima series.

Yeah, it pretty much is. Only with extra pointless plot scenes, and an even stupider main plot (than KH1).

You forgot the original Baulder's Gate series. Not that spin-off for the xbox, the real, P.C deal.

Oh, yes, Baldur's Gate, how could I forget about that and its spiritual successor Neverwinter Nights.

It's not special in your case though =P
I actually have to cross the border to get games that are censored here.

Crusaders of M&M wasn't though, but I was 12 at the time and on a schooltrip =P

NWN is basically the sequel to Baldur's Gate? Hmm... interesting. I certainly never knew that (and for some reason when I think of NWN I think of this really weird Wii game which isn't actually called NWN but I keep thinking it is :I)

Oh, and [finally] added a ToC to the OP.

Remember that door from the end of Traverse Town? What was behind it?

Image

The guy from the tutorial was behind it... how long had he been waiting there?

Welcome to Exposition Station #01. Please, mind the gap and try not to fall into any plot holes should they appear.

Image
Image

So, why do you look so annoyed? Image

Image
Image

Cloaked Guy is suddenly looking more... well... Image (Sora's only 15 at this point in the game...)

Anyway, some guy suddenly appears and hopefully he won't be so creepy...

Image
Image
Image

I couldn't have put it better myself...

Cloaked Guy w/Hood passes Red a random card anyway.

Image
Image
Image

Cloaked Guy w/Hood fades away or something now leaving this guy alone with us.

Image
Image: My name is Axel. Got it memorized?

Image
Image
Image

Image We're on a first name basis, so he pulls out blazing chakram? This guy must not get out much!

Image

Image Boss fight #2!

Now, before I link the video, I think Axel is worth explaining since he's the first real boss (and a total pushover).

None of his attacks are too damaging (for one he slices normally, and another he throws a chakram across the screen and teleports grabbing it), except for this:

Image

Fire Wall. This is Axel's sleight, and it's still not worth worrying over since if you dodge roll through the flames you take no damage. If you fail at double pressing one button, you can let him spam these and he'll eventually stop as he runs low on cards.

Axel also enjoys teleporting around the fight area, and ice completely wrecks his shit.

Boss 2: Axel
Image

I'm not sure what's worse: Sora's GBA voice acting, the track playing (which was improved for KH2 fortunately) or that I delivered the final blow with Simba.

Notice how this took me about half the time it took me to beat Guard Armor? Yeah, this is what happens when I don't dick around.

Oh, and we got some world cards at the end of the video.

Image

I just said that Goofy. You're not as bad as Donald ([insert deity of choice here] no), but you're ge-

Image

Considering they're WORLD cards, I hope they are.

Image
Image

Image Didn't I just kill you?

Image

I can't help but feel like this is foreshadowing something... maybe that's just me though.

Image

Wasn't that said before I kicked Axel's ass? Seriously, you're slow Sora.

Image
Image: Follow your memories. Trust what you remember, seek what you forget...

Image

Hmm... I wonder who that can be.

Image
Image

So basically Image

Image: You'll just have to give some more though to who's most important to you. Our most precious memories lie deep in our hearts, out of reach. But you can find yours, Sora.

Just when I thought this place wouldn't have any exposition or foreshadowing. Axel didn't fail to disappoint there.

Image
Image

...I never would've guessed. But did you have to make a comment that makes you seem like Vincent Valentine?

Image
Image

I like how Goofy didn't give Sora time to answer.

Image
Image: And if you get in my way-

Image

I appreciate the gesture and all Donald, but... bwahahahaha who am I kidding? Donald, you're pathetic.

Image
Image: But be forwarned... When your sleeping memories awaken, you may no longer be you.

Could it be...? Yes it is. It's even more foreshadowing!

Axel buggers off now, leaving our heroes (and Donald) alone thus the scene ends.

Well, that achieved pretty much nothing at all other than allowing Sora to kick Axel's ass, and Axel to drop foreshadowing bombs (some of which don't even apply til KH2).

Last chance to decide where I'm off first. Locations are still:

Wonderland,
Olympus Colliseum,
Agrabah,
Monstro,
Halloween Town

"You will find someone special to you!"
"Well, who is it?"
"Duh, I don't know!"

Gotta love the dialogue in these games sometimes. But yeah, Axel's a douche and that doesn't change in the next game =P

That's probably the only good thing about KH2 Axel really.

~~

Like all good updates, this one starts with a tutorial;

Image
Image

A basic attempt to stifle backtracking but since backtracking is pointless for most of the game, it's wasted.

Anyway, on the second floor...

Image

Every scene with you ends up bad in some way, cricket. You're like the harbinger of this game.

Image

No. There is absolutely nothing wr-

Image
Image What could he have meant by "you may longer be you"?

Well... (MAJOR, MAJOR, MAJOR KH1, CoM (to a much lesser degree) AND KH2 spoilers ahead peoples)

Spoiler:
When Sora got turned into a Shadow (yes the heartless) after the fight with Rikunort (Riku under the possessive influence of Xehanort's heartless "Ansem") at Hollow Bastion, a Nobody was also formed. This nobody is called Roxas, and is one of Organisation XIII. Organisation XIII are the ones in control of Castle Oblivion, but only six members are seen in this game: Marluxia, Axel, Larxene, Vexen, Zexion, Lexaeus (rough order of appearance). The other members who aren't introduced as of yet, are (in no particular order this time) Xemnas, Xigbar, Xaldin, Demyx, Luxord, Saix and Roxas. Each nobody in Organisation XIII is of a high-ranked nobody, as it were, since they remember what it is like to have emotions, and are able to replicate them, as well as being similar in appearance to their "original" counterpart. In essence, what Axel meant was foreshadowing the events of KH2 where Roxas and Sora become one person again, as neither is whole without the other, but nothing really comes out of it.

Image
Image

Look, Jiminy, shut up. You're currently on-par with Donald for worst character in the game (thus far; there is one much worse than either of those two coming later...), if for no reason other than he isn't a harbinger.

Image

It's Oblivion...

I'd be annoyed, but you don't suck and this place does have an effect on your memory...

Image

Also, for the rest of this scene, Donald and Jiminy don't exist as far as I care; it makes some of the dialogue much more accurate.

Image

Like that for example. Goofy is worthwhile to a degree, and Sora kicks ass (at the moment) so it's exceptionally accurate.

Image

A castle with contraptions? Are you making shit up again?

Image

If Goofy were to be more specific, I could tell you. How about a name?

Image
Image

Hmm... nope. No idea. Well, I do... and it is rather obvious but I digress.

Image

I already asked that, but I'm sure Goofy'll answer now...

Image

Grand. Thanks for nothing; at least we learned something: either Goofy has a crap memory/overactive imagination, or Castle Oblivion fucks with your mind really damn fast. This is only the second floor.

Image

Hmm... a save point on the left, and a weird orb on the right. The orb isn't worth worrying about for now; I'll go over it next time we come across one.

Anyway, next time:

Image

Just because I want to keep the plot and other stuff seperate. (No need to put it to a vote again; the Coliseum's not going to get outvoted at this point.)

awww, I was hoping that I could still vote for agrabah, mainly since that's the first world they visit in the CoM manga (I was lucky and found both volumes at my book store :good: )

but, that world is ok, too, I guess.

Also, about what you said in the spoiler tags, I don't think that what Axel said about sora "not being himself" because of roxas, I don't think that that is correct.

*NOTE, this can't be proven yet, so this is only my opinion/theory*

In the title 358/2 days, for the ds, I think the 358 is the number of days roxas was a member of the organization.

Spoilers for the rest of this game
Spoiler:
Sora was in the pod for 1 year, and 358+7 (which is the number of days in the roxas intro in KH2) = 365, or 1 YEAR and, which makes some sense, plus it was hevily implyed that Axel and Roxas spent a good amount of time together, plus, near the end of the game, Axel starts to feel emotions, with him famous line that got sensored in RE:CoM "This is gonna be one HELL of a show!" around that point. So, I think that the reason he says that "Sora may no longer be him" is because of what happened to him near the end of the game, he becomes MarluSHIA's (that's not how it should be pronounced, damnit) puppet, and a slave to his own memory.

so, that's my thoughts on it.

I was under the impression that Sora 'not being himself' was because of

the false memories they're starting to feed him.

exactly, Like I said. Or to put it as the other characters put it later in the game

Spoiler:
He's become MarlUSHA's (IT'S MARLUXIA, DAMNIT :banghead: ) puppet and a slave to his memories.

It could be that... until the events of KH2 transpire anyway.

But, like I said,
Spoiler:
I don't think Roxas is part of the organization yet. Since it's only the Organization, not Organization XIII. Plus, is there even a hint that they know of Roxas's existence, I mean, I know they mention the fact that he did in fact regain his heart after becoming a heartless, but not of a nobody. Plus, the only people who have a interest in restoring sora is DiZ, "Ansem", and "the one who Sora lost". Since they want to have sora as their puppet, why would they want to have him and roxas be one again? it makes no sense.

Darn it, Goofy, this is Castle Lobotomy! Don't forget it again.

Spoiler:
Before this discussion progresses into something that reminds people of all those pseudo-theological theories and debates about Final Fantasy VII, I'm gonna pop in here and say that Sora and the others just suffer from G.S-E.P.I. - or Generic Square-Enix Plot Idiocy. I've yet to play a Squeenix game that makes sense.

The other one was called Hollander Base, right?

well, that's not quite what we're going into.... yet.

Don't forget the end of the first game:
Spoiler:
KINGDOM HEARTS IS LIGHT EVEN THOUGH IT'S SUPPOST TO BE BAD! I mean, I get what they intended, you know, the thing where there's always a LITTLE light in every DARKNESS, but that still doesn't justify how the ending worked, at all.

also,
Spoiler:
TACOS
