Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Olympus Colliseum's second edition of the annual Olympic Games! I'm Kratos, your announcer for this event - EVEN THOUGH I SHOULD BE PARTICIPATING - so let's see who's going in for the preliminaries this year.

Here's our first contender: Donald Duck. First debuted to the world in... what do you mean it's Daffy? I'm telling you, it's Donald. Don't lie to me; I KNOW DONALD DUCK WHEN I SEE DONALD DUCK.

(Jiminy then explains the Olympic Games and how Hercules in competing and has never been beaten before (which is a lie)... I practically paraphrased it at the very beginning anyway)

Sorry about that everybody. As I was saying... oh, it doesnt matter now; a new contender has appeared: Jiminy Cricket. Something tells me though that he'll be filling more of a cheerleader role, like he did last year.

Of course he's going to be competing; the winner of the last Olympic Games and - according to this dossier I have on everyone in this game - he's only 14 folks: Sora [last name withheld]!

The last competitor we know of - aside from Hercules - is this guy folks, one George "Goofy" Geef. According to his wikipedia page, he was born on May 25th 1932 making him older than most of the cast of the game. For such an old fellow, he sure can handle himself well in the arena. Let's go to a live-feed now to see what the competitors are planning for this years events.

Isn't it amazing folks, the tournament hasn't even started yet and Sora is already displaying his confidence. He reckons he can handle the entire event on his own... He's done so once before so it wouldn't surprise me if he did it again!

Sorry Donald, new rules say that this years event is to be done with no more than 2-people per team. It's Sora's choice who he takes with him.

Goofy. Definitely Goofy.

Well, you heard it here folks: Donald and Jiminy are on the bench! Now, our teams are set for the preliminaries, so we'll now go live to the event!
Meanwhile...
I'm certain we all recognise the Disney villain voiced by James Woods... if not, I'll be surprised. Very surprised in fact.

"Hercules is a model of true strength and gallantry - the perfect hero"?!

Oh, he's perfect all right. PERFECTLY INFURIATING!!
Wasn't that line used in the film? It sounds like it.

Everytime I read this, I always read the last part as "he makes me
blood boil" for some reason, despite that the word blood is omitted. Just seems like it should be there.

He'd tried before, and failed. I don't think it's gonna work, what with 'Herc' being a demi-god and all.

Hmm...? Who could this be? (Note that for the sake of actual suspense on this matter, I'm omitting the rest of the scene; I'll include it in the next update).

And, we're back with the live feed on the competitors. It seems that during the break Sora decimated the entirety of the preliminaries with minimal help from Goofy. Here are the highlights of what you missed:

Each world has a keyblade unique to it in a sense. Whilst there is another way that the keyblade variants can be found, certain types are only found in certain worlds (such as the Kingdom Key being unique to Traverse Town) map items. I'll cover the other way when we get access to it.

The first new contender that Sora encountered was a Bouncywild! These little buggers are weak - the best card they can use has a mere value of 2... hah, a 2 - but they love throwing banana's around which, unlike last year, are a massive hinderance.

After the battle, Sora collected a card to a special room. I wonder if he'll use it.
Moogle Rooms are, in my opinion, one of the best map types you can get. They have no enemies in them at all, but they function as shops. You buy cards here in packs of 5; weapons, magic, items, and a mixture of the three. The chance of getting a decent card out of one is directly proportional to the rarity of the pack, which is based on how far through the game you are.

And in his last match of the preliminaries, Sora encountered two new contenders: Large Bodies and Powerwilds. Neither is particularly powerful, but Large Bodies are somewhat problematic; they are completely immune to any non-sleight melee damage not dealt to their back. It seems that they're only common weakness is something I have been told is "Chronic Backstabbing Disorder".
Large Bodies are annoying to fight as explained above, but are one of ~3 enemies in the entire game that it's worth using Sora's slide sleight on. Powerwilds have one of the better enemy cards in the game in my opinion, but don't really have much else going for them. In general, neither enemy actually has the ability to make you worry too much (unlike in the console games where Large Bodies are much more annoying...), but can use non-crap card values.
Also: Which world is next? (I'll finish this one in the next update most likely)
Wonderland,
Olympus Colliseum,Agrabah,
Monstro,
Halloween Town
