Jove, or Iove, is Jupiter so it'd be
really incorrect to call Ζευσ that. Also: update.
~

It is apparant that someone is here; the only question is... who?

Ahh, it's this guy who hasn't had any real screentime yet; this is like the fourth scene he's been in.

If only Sora had been reading the game script; he'd know who it was easily then.
Vexen: That's no way to greet a stranger, Sora. I am Vexen. I've come to collect your debt. You owe me for reuniting you with your former friend.
Sora: You don't mean -

I guess this is supposed to be some kind of twist, since Sora is the viewpoint character and all but due to the snippits of scenes with the Organisation we've been seeing along with the fact that Larxene called Riku Vexen's toy not that long ago...
Sora: You're the one who's been controlling him! What have you done to him?
Vexen: I see no need to tell you.

Bitch is asking for his ass to be kicked now.
Vexen
(^Fucking awesome; get back all spells and reset the reload counter. And it's the first part of Holy.)
For a boss that comes so late in the game, Vexen isn't a hard fight by means. Annoying, sure, but not hard. You wouldn't expect it, but his element is ice and so Blizzard cards are out of the question to healing the bugger. Fortunately, this means his weakness is fire and a Fire Boost'd Firaga can take a decent chuck of his health away in one swoop. 'Tis just a shame I have barely any Fire cards for some reason. Physical attacks are risky, due to his shield which deflects attacks from wherever it is so whilst it's mainly in front of him he will move it at times making it possible to hit his front. In spite of this, it's still better to hit him from behind with physicals - if you intend to use them - but fire spells make it much quicker. A fire elemental keyblade (i.e. the Lionheart card from Traverse Town) would be good for physicals doing some decent damage too
Sora: As if I'd ever lose to you.
Vexen: You'll yet have your chance. As we fought, I delved deep into your memory...and look what I found.
Destiny Island? It's Destiny Island, isn't it. It's got to be Destiny Island.

...Or not. I could've sworn... Tch, oh well. Win some, lose none etc.
Vexen: If you want to fight me for real, then step into the world within this card!
Fight for real? I guess we know who the boss is going to be for whatever world it is I guess. Kind of anticlimatic when you know who you're fighting before you even know what the world is really. Shame too.

Only one way to find out: go on up and see what's in this card.
But, of course, it's not going to be that simple. There'll always be something in the way. In this case, it's...

Another scene with these guys. So very predictable.
Larxene: What not? The shows over if Sora finds out about the other side.
Axel: If he just passes through without catching on, we can patch things up later. But if not...
Marluxia: Let Naminé handle this. In the meantime, Axel, you know what to do.

Well, Vexen's fucked then since Axel specialises in Fire... and uses bladed chakram to fight. He has such an unfair advantage.
Axel: Done. There's no taking that order back later.
Really, really fucked.
Jiminy: I wonder what it does?
Sora: One one way to find out. Besides, it's the only card we have left.
It's the only card Vexen handed over. It's not hard for it to be the only card left.
Let's see what we're stuck with I guess.

Twilight Town? What? This place wasn't in KH1. I guess we've stopped repeating the first game at this point. On the eleventh floor. Brilliant, isn't it?

That's supposed to be a clocktower. Only it doesn't have a face. I don't know either.

Twilight Town. It said so on the card.
Sora: I dunno...I've never been here.
Jiminy: But that can't be right! Up until now we've only been to places in Sora's memory.
Sora: Maybe so, but I definitely don't remember this.
Donald: Maybe you forgot this town just like the other stuff.
Jiminy: This is terrible. Our memories are practically gone.
Sora: We'll be okay. See, look at this...
Sora: There's a special memory that goes with this.
Time to reminisce I guess. Only without it being a flashback.
Sora: She started crying. She said, "What if a shooting star hits the island?" So I said, "If a shooting srar comes this way. I'll hit it right back into outer space! I was swinging this toy sword around the whole time. She just smiled and said "Thanks." Then she gave me this.

This just happens now for no real reason. I don't know why either. It just does this for this one whole line.
Sora: So I promised her... "From now on, I'll bring you good luck. I'll keep you safe." I really let her down...
Main and subplot segregation is over it seems. Can't complain about this, but this means there's no world specific sora attitude now. Which isn't a bad thing actually.
As for new things? Well, there's no new enemies at all. The only enemies here are Shadows (which are in
every world anyway), Soldiers, Air Soldiers and Barrel Spiders. This is a good place to drop farm for Air Soldier cards though; the best place to do so in fact. If you still need one that is.
As for other new things? There's only one plot door. That's different. But for the more important stuff:

This is the final sleight Sora learns via level up. There's a few I haven't gotten, but they're acquired differently. It's also not as good as you'd expect, since it's elemental damage. If I had a Mushu card, though, it'd have been good for beating Vexen since weak to fire etc.
Regular chest treasure:

Yet again, another Fire elemental sleight that requires Mushu. It's basically a more powerful version of Firaga. Would've been useful earlier, and if I had Mushu (I could go back to Hollow Bastion to grab the one from the Rewards room, but yeah, no) but digressions.
Only the one regular treasure this time.
Key to Rewards:

Ugh, annoying requirements again. A Blue 8 and a Red 1; the blue 8 is the most annoying since it's a blue that's a specific number. The reward for this?

Unlike Warpinator which only hits one enemy and misses more than 90% of the time (or at least feels like it) this hits everything and is
guaranteed to kill everything (other than bosses). The catch? You can't get EXP for whatever you kill, and you can't gain any enemy cards either since you kill everything at once and the enemy card you gain - if any - is based on whatever you kill last. Since I don't need any more levels, due to being a higher level than is ever needed, I
could spam this against randoms but I'll save that til later. There's one other Rewards chest I want to get first.

Oh, and moogle packs are updated again. The most expensive ones are supposed to get you better/rarer cards but it's not apparant until after you've beaten the game anyway.
On with the plot, and since there's only the one room it's obvious where the boss is going to be so I've rearranged my deck according to what the boss is going to be. For the second time.

You'd think this mansion would prove to be important due to being at the plot door. Eh...not really, since it just serves as a backdrop for this place.

Either Sora has a tummyache (d'aww) or is finally growing up. Thinking of the latter makes me laugh since it's
Sora.
Sora: I'm sure I don't know this place, but it's starting to feel real familiar...
Donald: You must've been here before.
Sora: That's just it. I never have.
Goofy: Maybe it's like with Naminé. You forgot other stuff, so now you remember this place.
Sora: No...it's different. With Naminé, the memories of us together sort of came drifting back piece by piece. But here, there are no memories. Everything feels familiar, that's all.

Hey Vexie! I was beginning to think you weren't gonna show up.
Vexen: Which is more real to you: your memorues of Naminé, or the familiarity you feel here?
Sora: Naminé of course! Whatever I feel here is just some trick of yours!
Vexen: Ha ha ha... The memory's wiles are cruel. In its silence, we forget. And in its perversion, it binds our hearts firmly. Recall that this place was made from another side of your memory. Yes, the other side of your hearts knows this place. The other side remembers.
Sora: You're wrong! I don't know this place!
Actually, they're both right. Although how Vexen is right is, you guessed it.
not explained until Kingdom Hearts II.
Vexen: If you remain bound by the chains of memory, and refuse to believe your heart...then you may as well throw your heart away.
With the obligitary title drop out of the way, it's time for shit to get serious I guess. Or at least as serious as it's going to get in this game.
Vexen: Just like my Riku. You're not fit to exist.
Sora: YOUR Riku? You're so full of it! YOU'RE the one who changed Riku, aren't you? Every word you've said is a lie! I'd never throw my heart away! I'm gonna take you down and save Riku and Naminé. THAT'S what's in my heart!
Time for the rematch with Vexen.
This fight is basically the same as last time, but he has two more sleights. Nothing major though. Oh and I guess it's important to note that unless you use Parasite Cage you're going to have to beat him twice in this fight do his Auto-Life effect. I beat him twice anyway though, because why not?
Note how this time we get Vexen's card. Not only is this the best non-buff enemy card in the entire game (until the post game anyway), because it's the Auto-Life ability, but it's an important thing to pay attention of; every time there's been a fight with an Organisation member (and Riku) we've only gotten spells, items (or a crap sleight) and now it's giving us an enemy card from one.
Vexen: You ARE dangerous! You MUST be exterminated!
Sora: Fine, whatever. Just put Riku back the way he was!
Sora really is a moron. He just said it's fine for him to be killed.
Vexen: Put him back? Fool of a boy! Even now you understand nothing. The Riku you speak of has but one fate - to sink into the emptiness of darkness. And you will share that fate, Sora! If you continue to seek the girl Naminé, the shackles will tighten...
Sora: Marluxia? Who's that and who do they have to do with Nami -
One Bladed Chakram out of fucking nowhere...

Sora: Axel!

This is not going to end well, is it? Something tells me there's only one reason Axel's here - and it's not to team up with Vexen to kick my ass. Could it be that he
is going to kill Vexen?
Vexen: Unnngh... Axel, wh...why...?
Axel: You sure love to talk. It's about time you shut up - forever.
Vexen: No... Don't do it...!
Axel: We're nobodies, Vexen. We've got no one to be - but we still "are." So look on the bright side: you're off the hook. Now you can be nothing instead of just being nobody.
Vexen: M-Mercy, Axel! I don't want to...go yet...
Axel: NOW you can tell me I don't respect my elders.

Y'know Vexen was kind of a good villain. A little bit of an arse but not that much. Shame he was in the better part of five scenes; two of which contained him getting beaten up by Sora, and one of those also contained his death. Sucks for him.
Sora: What ARE you people?
Axel Wish I knew the answer to that myself.
And on that enigmatic note, Twilight Town is done. Short in terms of plot doors, but feels longer than most other worlds because a lot is crammed into it. Makes me wonder what Marluxia's got in store for Sora now. I guess that'll have to wait until next time to find out.
